     5. Action

Let us say you are in town A and want to go to town B.

You have all the information on town B that you require. You know its every street, corner and house by heart. You know all the routes to get to the town and all the vehicles you can use for the journey. The existence of town B is beyond any reasonable doubt.

However even with all this information, I don’t think you can wake up one day and find yourself in town B. You have to go there practically. You have to make some directed effort. You take the first step that leads to another and then another and so on. Finally you get there. If you are in a position to take the fastest means of transport available in your locality the better and the faster you get to town B.

Likewise to be successful, you have to act. You need to get into the action. Put the effort to see your dream come true.

It’s good that you’ve got the basics of your success. Let me believe that you have them in the correct order. You are ready with the right information. You have the intense burning desire to achieve your goal. You now believe beyond a shadow of doubt that you are going to succeed having been convinced so and also because you have the right tools in place. That is very good. Excellent! You are on your way to success.

Here is a small illustration regarding your present situation.

Let us say you have been experiencing alot of pain in your body for many years without a cure. No treatment ever eases the pain. You have visited every doctor you know but the real cause of the pain has never been properly diagnosed. Luckily you come across this particular doctor who is so committed to detail. After performing several tests on you, he carefully says:

“I’ve finally found what has been paining you all these years. Now you’ll be healed”

“Wow! That’s very great.” you say exhilarated.

The doctor then continues. “We are going to give you a prescription which you are to follow very carefully in order that you may be healed. Are you going to take it?”

I can almost see you jump excitedly exclaiming “Yes!”

Here the doctor pauses for a moment, takes a deep breath then hesitatingly continues. “Forgive me but I will ask you a rather skeptical question. Are you going to afford it?”

There is no pause between the doctor’s question and your counter-question of…. “How much?”

“It is not as much as you may think money-wise.” He replies. “You can very well afford it if you are willing and depending on your desire to be well again. To start with, we are giving you this medicine for free. Take a dose in the morning at noon and at night every day. Your actual cost is following this prescription as it is with commitment to the very end of the problem. We will keep you under supervision for all this time.”

That can be a very simple and cheap prescription. Incidentally that is what success calls for. It may look cheap but the application is what gives a lot of people the most of problems.

Action is not always an easy thing for many people to take. It has not been easy for me on several occasions. Your willingness to achieve is what will make you take that action on this scheme. Knowledge alone cannot take you anywhere. Acting on the knowledge is what makes the biggest difference.

All that you’ve done before in this scheme has been preparation for the action towards your success. To activate your success, you have to take the initiative and do something about it. You have to plunge into the water to enjoy it.

Many people either fear and/or procrastinate taking action in the excuse of many other things forever.

Fear prevents you from ever trying, from taking that first step. Fear comes in many dimensions and forms. There is fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of about anything. However most fears I came to know are only virtual. They are just imaginations. Most of what I feared in the past never actually happened and what did, never happened as I feared it would. Fear will only stop you from going a step ahead.

Procrastination on the other hand is just but a thief of your days. You wake up one day and realize that your time is gone. Who took it? Procrastination did. As you would do anything to protect your valuables from thieves, I would advice you to protect your time. You can only do this by putting your time into productive use. Time can never be preserved. Use it. Take the appropriate action towards your dream today. This will lead you to your success sooner than later.

If you put all you know into action, using the right tools driven by intense desire for achievement and believing that what you want is realistic and achievable, you are definitely destined for your utmost success. Your committed action will see you to your success.

Sometimes it calls for a lot of courage to take that first step but that may be all that is holding you from your success. You have always heard that a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. This is because the very first step is so important, it is worth a celebration.

Having the knowledge on anything won’t mean anything if you do not make use of it. It is useless in that state and it would have been just a waste of time having gathered it. Right knowledge applied is what produces results. You can be guaranteed of good results if you have good knowledge and apply the knowledge you have correctly.

Hence at this point, we see how you, having the right information concerning your preferred goal, with the intense desire to achieve (as you already believe you can), take action using the tools that you already acquired and achieve it.

Here now write down the first action you take directed towards your success as a major signpost marking a very committed move towards your very success.

After taking the action, tick alongside and move on.
